Mother’s Ritual encompasses both remnant objects of performative space and ritualistic actions documented through hours-long pinhole exposures. The actions, including observances of the moon, charcoal drawings, and time spent crocheting, were repeated in acknowledgment of inevitable changes; specifically of perceived parental and child relationships. The rituals stem from childhood memories and crafts passed down through familial lineage. Mother’s Ritual considers what else can be passed down generationally; like mental illness, anxieties, and practices of self-sacrifice.
